Greetings! Today I shall begin a series of articles on CC2's newest entry for the .hack franchise, soon to enter the next-gen console market.
.hack//Versus will be the next HYBRID release from Bandai Namco, after the last Tekken Hybrid - a BluRay disc containing several forms of media that can range from game(s), anime, OSTs and even movies.
The Hybrid disc allows you to play viewable media on a BluRay player OR play relevant games (or demos) on a console. In a market saturated with rehashes and re-releases, having the choice of buying this before buying the final release of a game is far better than being compelled to buy the same game over and over, with slightly more added content (I'm looking at you, Capcom). With Tekken Hybrid, you know beforehand that the Tekken Tag 2 Prologue is just a sample of the final TTT2 game coming out later this year. The disc also contains the new Tekken movie, as well as an HD, online version of Tekken Tag 1.
Likewise, .hack//Versus will also be a part of the .hack HYBRID disc. There are multiple versions for this disc (3 known so far) and you can view all of them here:
